To get to know the local flora and fauna, we studied at the nature center of the North Vidzeme Biosphere Reserve in Salacgrīva and enjoyed the sunny, windy weather by the sea. The students were given various interactive tasks about plants, fish, insects, etc., and also had to study the small Baltic Sea gems the size of a grain of sand (garnets), which can be found on the sandy beach.
